Executive Coaching
Supporting Leaders at Critical Transitions
Executive coaching has become one of the most effective leadership development interventions as organisations prepare leaders for larger roles, greater complexity, and increased ambiguity. At Cohere, executive coaching is an individualised, context-anchored development partnership. It focuses on supporting leaders in their current roles or in preparation for future responsibilities, always within the realities of their organisational and business environment.
The coaching process is non-directive and non-judgemental. It helps leaders examine and reshape:
Mindsets, beliefs, and assumptions
Leadership behaviours and impact
Interpersonal effectiveness and decision-making
Alignment between personal purpose and organisational expectations
The outcome is not just improved performance, but stronger leadership presence and clarity of action.
The Coaching Relationship
Executive coaching is typically a three-way partnership involving:
The leader (coachee)
The organisational sponsor
The coach
In some cases, coaching may be self-sponsored by the leader. However, experience suggests that a three-way partnership enables stronger alignment between individual development and organisational priorities, while preserving confidentiality and trust.
The Coaching Process
Once the coach, coachee, and sponsor are aligned, the coaching engagement typically unfolds over 8–10 sessions across 8–10 months.
- Each coaching session lasts approximately 90–120 minutes
- Leaders are encouraged to reflect between sessions and experiment with insights in real work situations
- The overall time commitment is typically 8–10 hours per month
The sponsor is usually involved in:
- An initial contracting conversation
- A mid-engagement alignment or goal-setting discussion
- A closure and review conversation
This structure ensures both depth of reflection and accountability for progress.
Coaching Flow
The coaching journey follows a structured yet flexible flow:

My Approach
My coaching approach is centred on the three P’s of leadership:
- Purpose – reconnecting leaders with what truly matters to them and their role
- Potential – expanding awareness of strengths, blind spots, and possibilities
- Performance – translating insight into effective leadership action
Supported by robust coaching frameworks, I work with leaders to improve managerial and leadership effectiveness while staying grounded in business realities.
I am certified to administer EQ-i 2.0 and EQ 360, globally recognised emotional intelligence assessments that offer powerful insights into leadership impact and development priorities.
